DIY Rainbow Sherbet Cold Process Soap 🌈 Clyde Slide Technique | Bramble Berry
Learn how to make colorful, swirly, cold process soap using the Clyde Slide technique! Inspired by the juicy notes of Rainbow Sherbet Fragrance Oil, this soap is bursting with colorful swirls.

Rainbow Sherbet Fragrance Oil is a crowd-pleasing scent, with notes of green apple, orange, and grapefruit. It behaves well in cold process, which is essential for the swirly design. The Swirl Recipe Quick Mix also helps ensure you have plenty of time to work.
The key is to not over stick blend the batter - use short bursts of 2-3 seconds, then stir with the stick blender off for 5-10 seconds. Repeat until barely emulsified, then split into 6 containers. The batter can be stick blended quickly later (if necessary), once the colors and fragrance have been fully incorporated.

I'm a bit annoyed by the fact that you don't show the soap you made in the video as the finished product. Why did you switch soap? Was it because the on you made filming it, didn't turn out like it should??
It's because it takes a couple of hours to "solidify" and she had one ready to show. It's nothing bad.
What is your position on using teacups for a candle vessel?

Yes, we used mica pigments for these recipes!
What does milk do in soap?
It helps to create a luxurious rich lather that is very moisturizing for the skin!
Can you share what temperature the oils n lye should be ?
For this recipe, we recommend that the lye water and oils have cooled to 120° F or below (and are ideally within 10 degrees of each other).

How much essential oil do I add per pound or 2 of beeswax? Great video btw!
You can use any fragrance or essential oil you like for candles. Test them to make sure you like the smell! In general, we use about 1-2 ounces of scent for every pound of beeswax. You may need to make a few test candles to find out what strength you prefer.

I’ve always had trouble with the white layer and the brown layer separating. I’ve done all the tricks except maybe the timing of demolding. How long do you wait to unmold?
We like to let the soap to cool and harden for 3-4 hours, then you can remove from mold and enjoy!

A sink of warm soapy water works great, you can toss the easy pour cups in as you go to let them soak a little while you're pouring your soap into the mold for an easier clean-up after!
